Our Vision is to inspire local area youth to have a life-long dedication to and love of sailing

All of us at GHYC Junior Sail want you to know that our primary goal is SAFETY for your child as well as our staff. As the COVID-19 situation evolves we have been consistently monitoring and adjusting our programs for Spring and Summer 2021.

We were able to run camps and race team programs in conjunction with TYC Junior Sail in Summer and Fall of 2020. To do this safely, we followed all local, state, and federal safety guidance and are happy to report that we did not have COVID-19 cases within the program. The following procedures were in place for 2020, and will likely be in place again in 2021:

  • Daily Health check and questionnaire
  • Reduce group size to 6
  • Single handed boats only
  • No interaction between isolated groups
  • Reduced overall camp programs to allow for appropriate social distancing
  • Masks required when not on the water.
  • Boats sanitation procedures
  • Hand sanitizer readily available

In planning for the 2021 Spring and Summer seasons we have anticipated that restrictions may still be in place and adapted our programming accordingly. We are hopeful that we may be able to add double-handed sailing and our Guppy program for ages 6-7 before camp this summer, but at this time we are unsure if the situation will be improved enough to do so responsibly. If you are interested in either of these programs, please sign up for the waitlist and we will contact you if/when we are able to open registration.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as GHYC Junior Sail works hard to keep youth safely back on the water.
